These programs are planned, coordinated and implemented through Student Services.

Aboriginal Academic Achievement
A provincial categorical grant supports programming that provides strategies and interventions to enhance the learning of Aboriginal students, and supports teachers
in incorporating aboriginal perspective in curriculum delivery.

Early Childhood Development Initiative
A Provincial categorical grant supports an inter-agency approach to supporting the
pre-kindergarten population in developing readiness skills for school entry.

Early Numeracy Initiative
A Provincial categorical grant supports enhanced training and materials development
for teachers of early-years mathematics.

Early Literacy Initiative
A Provincial categorical grant helps provide literacy development support to at risk Grade 1 students through Reading Recovery and other intervention programs.

Literacy Plan
The division develops a comprehensive Literacy Plan to coordinate and support
literacy enhancement initiatives at the school level.
