Pre-School Activities Around Pine Creek School Division
There is a great variety of parent-child programming happening around Pine Creek School Division, including:
START Program at MacGregor Public Library – START stands for Set Time Aside to Read Together. You and your child will enjoy lots of interactive and hands-on literacy activities. Sessions run on Mondays at 9:30 am. Call Antoinette at MacGregor Library for more information.
Stay and Play program at MacGregor Multi-Plex - Stay and Play takes place on Thursday mornings, twice a month. The first session is October 23rd, followed by November 6th, November 20th, December 4th, and December 18th. Children will have the opportunity to use creative thinking, be involved in literacy activities, and socialize with other children. A chance for moms and caregivers to interact with their child and with each other!
Shake Rattle and Roll at Austin Elementary School Gym on October 7th, 13th, 20th, 27th, and November 3rd from 6:30 to 7:30. Enjoy physical activity with a variety of games and equipment, followed by a snack.
StoryBox at Austin Elementary School on October 8th and 15th.The session will be held at 10 am on October 8th and at 6:30 on October 15th. Come enjoy a book and themed interactive activities with your child.
The ever popular CHILD program returns on October 22nd and December 10th at 10 am at Austin Elementary School. Enjoy a variety of interactive stations that foster creativity, literacy, numeracy, and language skills.
Wiggle Giggle and Much at Austin Elementary School on November 17thand 4th, December 1st and 8th at 6:30. Children will develop movement skills and awareness while dancing, playing, and moving, followed by a healthy snack.
Pre-school language parties at Langruth Elementary School take place several times throughout the school year. The first party is 10:30 to 12:00 on November 3rd. Parents and children will enjoy a story, craft, and other activities based on a seasonal theme. Snack provided as well. All children receive a free book and take home activity.
Kit and Kaboodle runs on Tuesday mornings in Gladstone at Come and enjoy activities, songs, rhymes, games, and books with your child, and a snack.
Healthy Baby at Gladstone United Church Annex on the second and fourth Monday of each month (except October – because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the program will run on the first and third Monday). This program is open to pregnant moms, or moms with a child under the age of 1. Join other moms in a supportive environment to learn about healthy pregnancies, nutrition, parenting, and other issues that are important to you. Free childcare provided for your older child(ren) and a healthy snack.
Kit and Kaboodle at Gladstone United Church Annex on Tuesdays at 6:00 (September 30th to November 4th). An evening to enrich language and literacy through songs, games, and book sharing.

All of the above activities are provided absolutely free of charge and are open to parents and caregivers of pre-school children.
Nursery School programs for 3 and 4 year olds are offered in Gladstone Elementary School, Austin Elementary School, Plumas Elementary School, and MacGregor Elementary School.
